10:06 AM EDT -- June 17, 2026 -- Kuwait says an electricity and desalination plant was damaged in an Iranian attack.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity says an Iranian attack struck a power plant and water desalination facility, causing a fire and damaging multiple electricity generation units.

Awaiting further info. Â
Kuwait derives about 90% of its fresh drinking water from desalination plant(s).  If those plants are knocked out, the country will no longer have fresh water for any of its population.
Iran warned, numerous times, that if its infrastructure was attacked, they would retaliate against infrastructure of countries hosting US bases. They specifically mentioned electric, desalination, and oil infrastructure.
Yesterday, the US ignored those warnings and began hitting Iranian infrastructure.  Now, it appears retaliation is taking place.
