Iran Hits Bu Hasa Oil Facility in United Arab Emirates; ONLY ROUTE Around Strait of Hormuz, now burning

The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Bu Hasa oil field is a major onshore oil and gas production facility located 200 kilometers southwest of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.  As of 2:12 PM eastern US Time on September 30, 2026, it is now smashed and burning.

An attack by Iran is being blamed for a massive fire at the facility.

Sentinel-3 satellite imagery from today shows a black smoke plume roughly 50 km long over the site.

NASA FIRMS recorded a fire radiative power of 143 megawatts at the facility, with the VIIRS mid-infrared channel reading 367 Kelvin, the absolute ceiling the sensor can register, meaning the fire is likely hotter than the data shows.  The NASA FIRMS image is above.

Flights near Abu Dhabi were disrupted earlier today. Bu Hasa crude feeds the Habshan-Fujairah pipeline, the UAE's only export route that bypasses the Strait of Hormuz.
