The Ukrainians are pounding Kursk with the best they have. So after the British, German and American tanks seen on Russian territory, they also used American missiles.
More specifically, with HIMARS, GMLRS systems and ATACMS missiles, Ukrainians hit floating passages of the Russian army and bridges to Kursk. Kiev expects the "green light" of the United States and the use of Storm Shadows missiles against Russian positions in Kursk. Sergei Cemezov, chief executive of Rostec Group and a close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin, said the United States and its Western allies risk causing a world war if Washington continued to provoke the conflict in Ukraine and allow Kiev to attack Russian territory.
His exclusive statements to Reuters give a rare picture of the thoughts of the closed circle around Putin after the surprise Ukrainian invasion of the Russian region of Kursk, in which the president has promised a "worthy" response.
"In a situation where the West, under the leadership of the United States, is causing war, we must be ready," Chemezov said in his written responses to an interview request.
The further it goes, the greater the risk of the world being dragged into a global conflict. It seems strange, but Western countries don't seem to understand how dangerous this is to them.
The comments of Chemezov, a former KGB general who served with Putin in East Germany before the collapse of the Soviet Union, were sent to Reuters after the start of the Ukrainian invasion of Kursk. A Russian investigator confirmed that Ukraine had hit and caused damage to a third bridge over the Seim River in Russia's Kursk region, where Moscow forces have been fighting Kiev's forces for nearly two weeks.
On August 18, as a result of targeted bombings using missiles and artillery at residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in the village of Cariz... damaged a third bridge over the Seyme River, a spokesman for Russia's Investigative Committee said.
The video with this statement was posted on the channel on the Telegram messaging app of Russian state television presenter Vladimir Solovyov.
Russia's foreign ministry said on Friday that Ukraine had used Western missiles, possibly U.S.-made HIMARS, to destroy a bridge over the Shaim River in the Gluskov region.
In another video posted on Solovyov's Telegram channel, a spokesman for the Russian investigative committee said a second bridge over the Seim River near the village of Zvanoe in the Kursk region used to evacuate civilians was damaged by US-made HIMARS.
The head of the Ukrainian air force said his country's air forces destroyed the second bridge, limiting the capacity of a Russian group that resists the advance of Ukrainian forces.
Military analysts say there are three bridges in the Ukrainian army's offensive area through which Russia supplies its forces.
