FLASH UPDATE 12:47 AM EDT -- IRAN MISSILES HIT SHIP IN PERSIAN GULF

12:38 AM EDT -- About thirty minutes ago, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fired missiles against at least two ships in the Persian Gulf. At least one was hit and exploded.
The vessels were allegedly "operating in the interest of the United States" but no clarification as to exactly what that means.
IRGC claims both vessels turned off their transponders.
