With things in the world going as they are, it is becoming more and more LIKELY that we are heading into a financial and societal collapse of staggering proportions.
It's not simply that Stock Markets are at historic highs but that historic levels of it are owned on Margin. It's not simply that today, there are historic levels of "shorts" against the stock market - with gigantic numbers of stock traders all betting the markets are going to tank:

It's not simply that markets have seen "The Hindenberg Omen" 13 Times in the last three months.

It's not just that 38 of the Top 50 Residential Housing Markets are now seeing homes sell BELOW the asking prices, or that there are now HISTORIC levels of Sellers with no buyers.

It's not just that the Boston Housing Market has now become the first in the northeastern US to "crack" with record numbers of sellers and few (if any) buyers:

It's not just that Banks are sitting on $325 BILLION of "Unrealized" losses, orders of magnitude larger than existed in the Great Financial Crisis of 2008:

When you see all these things going on at the very same time, it may start to occur to you that when "it" goes, it's ALL going to go. All at once. Massive financial calamity on almost every level.
And if this all takes place, it will take place at the very same time the federal government cannot come to the rescue because they're broke; just shy of FORTY TRILLION DOLLARS in debt:

Then, there's the oil situation that is bad, and is about to get very much worse.
For reasons known only to God, the U.S. decided to join Israel in attacking Iran, triggering the closing of the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in oil shortages, price increases, and widespread economic trouble. That's not going away, with Iran openly saying they will keep the Strait Closed until President Donald Trump leaves office in 2029.
This trouble has caused the price of gasoline to rise and far worse, price of Diesel fuel. Farmers nationwide paid nearly two-thirds more for diesel during the 2026 planting season than in 2025, adding roughly $1.4 billion in fuel costs, to the cost they have to charge to sell that food, according to a congressional analysis.
The report estimates diesel costs for planting corn, soybeans, wheat, cotton and rice increased 63.2% nationwide between the 2025 and 2026 planting seasons, driven by higher fuel prices.
Here's where Farmers are now in trouble:

Because E V E R Y T H I N G in this country, except for electricity and natural gas MUST move at some point, by truck, the fuel costs are driving global price increases for everything. Every piece of food we eat, every product we buy, every service we use, now costs more.
Worse, Diesel Costs are now causing businesses to close.
Tyson Foods announced they are officially closing the doors immediately at their Joslin, Illinois facility—resulting in 2,500 layoffs. Employees were given no advance that their last day would be last Thursday or Friday—with final paychecks ending on October 12th.
Aside from alleging a shortage of Beef, Tyson also mentioned the cost of transporting products -- the diesel fuel costs. So they're shutting down an entire food processing factory! Poof; gone ! ! !
All of these troubles are likely going to get far worse. When it "blows" I think we're going to quickly find ourselves in a survival situation. No fuel. No food. Maybe no electricity. Grid down. No Internet. No phones. Police-state restrictions of movement and nothing to buy from stores.
Maybe I'm wrong. I hope I'm wrong. But I don't think I'm wrong.
Cleaning-Out (While We Still Can!)
This past weekend, my son and I cleaned out the backyard at the condo here in North Bergen, NJ. We had accumulated a slew of . . . . junk. Old chase lounges that had rusted to disintegration. Old recliner-type chairs for the yard, also rusted to junk. Bits and pieces of lumber, conduit, piping.
I told him we have known we needed to do this for quite awhile and we've been putting it off, but I said we HAD to do it now, while there are still functioning systems to get it out of here and to a dump.
The Dumpster is full from the other Condo units using it. So we will wait until after tomorrow (Tuesday) - when the trash gets picked-up -- to bring down the file cabinet and plastic bin.
When I told my son we had to do it WHILE THERE ARE STILL FUNCTIONING SYSTEMS TO GET IT OUT OF HERE, it occurred to me that the same thing goes for all the rest of YOU.
If you haven't done so in awhile, clean out the house, the yard, the garage. Have a lawn sale if you must, but get rid of the stuff you don't need. Do it now while there's still functional societal systems to get rid of it all.
I have a sneaky suspicion we're not going to have that for very much longer . . . .
You're all familiar with Cushing, Oklahoma from my ongoing coverage of the oil situation. Quick refresher, Cushing, OK is the "pipeline capital of the world." All the oil drilling from around the nation is piped to Cushing, put in storage tanks there, and sold. It then gets piped to other areas or to export, all from Cushing.
Well, about forty miles east of Cushing, near Tulsa, OK, is a town called Glenpool, OK. It is where large Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) tanks store up the LNG for re-distribution to the entire eastern United States. This morning, several of those tough, durable, safe LNG tanks . . . . exploded!

Here is a clearer image from a local news helicopter:

Now, those types of tanks are all over this country, and literally NONE of them just suddenly explode. My initial gut-feeling: Sabotage.
Cushing now has to shut down the main LNG pipeline that fed those tanks. Which means the supply of Natural Gas for the ENTIRE eastern United States, just got shut off.
Natural gas powers our electric power plants. It heats many homes. Now, a sizeable chunk of the distribution system for LNG is destroyed.
I don't think this was an accident. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz was a foreseeable consequence of the US/Israel attack upon Iran, but it was done anyway, plunging the world into an oil/energy crisis months before Winter. Now, here in the USA, an enormously important LNG facility just "blew up." Sorry, it's all a little to convenient for my take.
I think the world is being not-so-slowly, intentionally, deprived of fuel and of food.
So, it looks TO ME that we are heading into a financial and societal collapse the likes of which has never been seen before.
Again, maybe I'm just wrong about all this. I don't think so.
I strongly advise all of you to get your home heating oil tanks topped-off RIGHT NOW, before the cold weather arrives, and if your rural home uses tanked gas, LNG or Propane, get those tanks topped-off RIGHT NOW.
I further strongly advise you to have emergency food. Cattle shortage? Meat processing plants suddenly being shut down??? Have food stored!!!!!!!
Banks underwater with "Unrealized losses?" Stocks at all-time highs, worse then before the Dot-Com bubble, worse than before the Great Financial Crisis? Have cash money in your possession!
Get the house, the garage, the basement and maybe even the attic cleaned out. Get all this done while you still can.
Then, get right with God.
I have a feeling He is the only hope you, me, or anyone us, actually have.
