TRUMP SAYS U.S. WILL RESPOND TO IRAN ATTACK ON U.S. FORCES

U.S. President Donald Trump tells Fox News that the United States "will respond" following an Iranian "attack" on U.S. forces.

This significantly raises the risk of another round of direct U.S.–Iran escalation. Oil and the Strait of Hormuz remain the immediate market focus.

Pardon me for paying attention to details, but yesterday afternoon, the US attacked Lark Island and killed almost 100 Iranian IRGC troops while bombing Iranian missile launchers.

The Iranians "responded" to that attack by striking US Bases in Jordan and elsewhere.

Now, President Trump is saying the US "will respond."   Respond to what?  We attacked first.

Or is our government under the child-like belief that "We can hit you, but YOU can't hit us back?"

On the surface, that child-like view is precisely what our behavior appears to me, to be.

Consequences

What will the consequences of another US strike be?

A coming US "response" will certainly NOT re-open the strait of Hormuz.  It will NOT ease the shortage of oil, globally.  It will NOT try to rebuild relations (with anyone).

This entire affair has been one debacle after another.  Whoever is advising the President to keep doing these things seems to me to be completely incompetent.
