President Trump just made a major shift in policy: Trump signed an Executive Order raising tariffs on India to 50%. This was specifically due to India's purchases of Russian oil.
It marks Trump's first economic "attack" on a country for their accused support of Russia.
And, it also marks Trump's public "attack" on a country for their accused support of Russia.
For the first time, it appears Trump is supporting Ukraine and the trade war caught in the middle of it.
The question becomes, will India back down and abandon Russia, one of their most crucial trade partners?
Or, will this push India close toward Russia and strengthen their ties?
