Refrigeration Systems Attacked - AGAIN - Both Commercial and Military
November 2, 2026

In Europe this morning, cyberattack is disrupting supermarket refrigeration systems across several European countries, including Finland, Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg, Estonia, and Ireland.
A vulnerability in specific refrigeration control software is allowing attackers to remotely manipulate freezer systems, causing temperatures to rise or even sometimes sending the freezer into "forced de-icing" which raises the temperature as high as +50°C.
Supermarkets are facing massive food losses, with fresh, chilled, and frozen products being discarded due to food safety risks. Some stores have experienced temporary closures and delayed openings.
The issue involves connected refrigeration systems whose software and security vulnerabilities are being exploited, allowing attackers to interfere with temperature controls remotely.
Retailers are responding, working with cybersecurity specialists and taking affected products off sale to protect consumers.
Many countries are being affected, some on a smaller scale, others on a much larger one.
The situation is evolving rapidly.
This same situation took place just weeks ago in France and in the Netherlands, where 500,000 square foot, 32 foot tall ceiling commercial freezer warehouses were also attacked, ruining fresh produce and other perishable for over seven hundred Supermarkets.
Hundreds-of-thousands of people were without fresh produce for weeks after the incidents in France and The Netherlands.
It has also come out over this past weekend, that a similar attack affected about six (6) United States Military Bases, ruining the frozen foods at those bases as well. That attack upon military bases allegedly took place in August, but was concealed from the public.
