Iran fired its heaviest missile in its arsenal, Sejil, on Wednesday evening against Israel.
The Revolutionary Guards announced that the dozen wave of attack against Israel was done with the Sejjil medium-range ballistic missile, which has a range of 2,000 kilometers.
"Our missile attacks will be concentrated and continuous, and we have opened the gates of hell to the Zionists.
Our missiles will not leave the Zionists out of the shelters for a moment, and it has been days without seeing the sun.
We destroyed the air defense of the Zionist army and the airspace of the occupied territories is open to our missiles and drones," the Revolutionary Guards said in a statement.
According to reports, among the missiles fired is the multisonic Fattah-1, which is also medium-range and developed by the Islamic Guard Corps of the Revolutionary Guard (IRGC).
It was first revealed in June 2023 and seen as an important step in Iranian missile technology.
It is reported to have a range of 1,400 kilometers, although there are different estimates, while it is estimated that it achieves speeds above Mach 13 (about 15,000 km/h), making it practically uninterrupted.
The Fattah ultrasonic missiles "successfully penetrated the defense systems of the Israeli regime," Iranian television reported.
Earlier, the Israeli military said it had detected missile launches from Iran.
