According to U.S. officials who spoke to Bloomberg news agency, preparations are being made to launch bombing Iran in the coming days, in the past weekend.
The situation is still fluid and may change.
Speaking to reporters outside the White House yesterday, U.S. President Donald Trump left open the possibility of a military intervention against Iran. “Maybe I do. Maybe I can't. No one knows what I'm going to do," he said.
U.S. President Donald Trump asked his military advisers if the 30,000-pound bombs could destroy nuclear facilities in Fordow, Iran, according to Axios.
The bombs, known as Massive Ordnance Penetrators, are in the U.S. arsenal, but Israel lacks the bombers they need to use them.
Fordeau is buried underground in depth believed to be far from the capabilities of Israeli weapons.
Pentagon officials told Trump they believe the bombs could work against Fordoe, though it is not yet clear if Trump is so sure, Axios reports.
The bombs have never been used in combat operations except in testing.
