VIDEO: Saudi Arabia BOMBS Yemen's Sanaa Airport To Prevent Iranian Plane from Landing

Saudi Arabia bombed Houthi controlled Sana’a International Airport in Yemen, apparently in an attempt to prevent an Iranian aircraft from landing there.

The Houthis have vowed to retaliate. That could include strikes on Saudi infrastructure, including oil facilities.
The reported strikes and threats of retaliation indicate a serious escalation risk in Yemen. Any further attacks on infrastructure or regional targets could deepen the conflict and increase instability across the region.
There was and still is concern that Iran is sending weaponry to the Houthis so they can close the Bab a-Mandab Strait into the Red Sea, thereby shutting down access to the Suez Canal at the north end of the Red Sea. The Suez allows transit to the Mediterranean Sea. If access to it is denied, ships would be forced to add about 14,000 miles and two to three weeks transit time, to go around the southern tip of Africa.
The economic impact of such a situation would be catastrophic for Europe and for the Middle East, which would not be able to ship oil from either the Persian Gulf (now believed closed again by Iran) or from the Red Sea.
